Such a great way to start 2020! Just 5 days into the new year Emily & Ryan got married on a gorgeous winter’s day at the always beautiful Nazareth Chapel at University of Northwestern. They both had a special twinkle in their eye on their day! I love seeing couple’s so in love! It was extra fun that Emily & Ryan got married on their 1 year anniversary of their first date together!
They did such a great job planning their attire! and there were so many meaningful elements in the things Emily wore! Jared the Galleria of Jewelry did such a great job on Emily’s ring, incorporating a diamond from one of Ryan’s grandma’s wedding ring into the side diamonds on Emily’s engagement ring! The pearls in Emily’s hair were from her paternal grandmother and her namesake. Ryan was looking sharp in his tux from Men’s Warehouse and Chenoweth Floral did a stunning job on all the bouquets & boutonnieres!
One of my favorite unique things that Emily & Ryan did on their wedding day was based off of a Bible story. In Joshua 4, it tells the story after Joshua passed over the Jordan River, God told him to have 12 men each gather a stone and to make a pile of stones of remembrance. So in years to come when their children asked what the pile of stones meant, they could tell them what happened there. Emily & Ryan had taken stones for many of the major live events of their lives, written the event on each stone, and placed them in a bowl. Instead of doing a unity sand or unity candle, they placed a rock to remember the beginning of their marriage. So cool!
