What an honor to be there for Sarah & Patrick’s wedding day! Their day was filled with unique and amazing moments and I am so glad I was able to capture them so they can look back for years to come and remember how truly incredible their wedding day was! I was the wedding photographer for Patrick’s sister’s wedding and I have absolutely loved getting to know this sweet family! Sarah & Patrick’s day started in the prep rooms at Minneapolis Event Centers! While they were getting ready, I took photos of their simple, timeless, and classy details! Those are the words that sum up their accessories and their day so well! Sarah’s beautiful dress was from Ivory Bridal Co. and it had a gorgeous cape that attached to the back of her dress! Malena Creates did an amazing job on the bride’s hair and Karen Amundson Makeup did a great job on her makeup!
Patrick’s dad helped him tie his tie and also put on his suit from Atmosfere! He looked super handsome! We took a quick PJ photo in the bridal suite before Sarah’s mom and maid of honor helped her into her dress! Beauty by Design did a great job with the dress alterations and it fit Sarah perfectly! It was then time for their first look! We did it right outside the venue space and the light was perfect! Patrick shed a few tears of joy when her turned around and saw his bride standing there! Such a sweet moment! Love the way these two bring this peace and calm when they are together! We did couple’s photos around the venue and down by the river! So many gorgeous spots around MEC! One highlight for me was during their couple’s photos. The groom is a fantastic photographer and while I was taking bridal portraits of Sarah, I had an idea pop into my mind! So I went over to Patrick and handed him my camera and said, “would you like to take a few portraits of your bride?!” He got so excited and took some photos of his bride! So fun! We then had the wedding party join the fun! Stellar group of people here! We also did immediate family photos before tucking the couple away prior to the ceremony!
This part of the day was one of my favorites! When we had their timeline meeting, Sarah & Patrick said they didn’t want the day to just be rushed and fly by! So we used my normal timeline (because I don’t like it rushed either!), but instead of the couple taking a break in one of their prep rooms to get off their feet and eat for the last 45 mins to an hour before the ceremony starts, these two wanted to go back over to the place they celebrated on their engagement evening! The Nicollet Island Inn restaurant! My amazing videographer friend Bill (from Peterson Brothers Productions) and I went with the couple and they ordered old fashions and fries! While they ate this snack, they exchanged love letters and to say it was beautiful wouldn’t do this moment justice! Love love love this!
We then went back and Sarah & Patrick had their ceremony on the outdoor patio of The Grand 1858 at MEC. It was amazing! They had a ring warming ceremony with their parents as part of the ceremony before they said their vows and exchanged rings! I love it when the families are involved and show their blessing! They were then declared husband and wife and did their processional out! All enjoyed a social hour before guests were seated for dinner! The reception space looked amazing! The couple was announced into the room and they did a dip-kiss right between two cold firework pillars! It looked so cool!
Dinner was served, dessert was put out, and toasts happened! So many lovely words said! Then it was time to dance! The first dance happened, Sarah danced with her dad, and Patrick danced with his mom! The incredible band The Covers kept the party rolling! This is a fantastic group! They even allowed one of Sarah’s bridesmaids to join the band for a song and they sang “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough!” The couple was loving this moment! We dipped out quick for a fun sunset photos down by the river and it was perfect! So happy for Sarah & Patrick and excited to watch their love continue to flourish!
