Where do I even start! Christy & John’s wedding day was incredible! When I met these two during their engagement session, we instantly became friends! It was such a joy to document this amazing day! Their wedding day started along St. Anthony Main at the couple’s apartment. Christy got her hair and makeup done by Lisa Kurtz Makeup & Hair Artistry. Lisa did an amazing job as always! While Christy was getting ready, I had so much fun taking detail photos of her accessories. From vow books, to stunning shoes, to lovely rings! And you can’t forget her brilliant bouquet by Florals by Claire! So fun. Christy’s mom and maid of honored helped her into her incredible dress from Che Bella. It fit her absolutely perfectly! John got ready with all his groomsmen and everyone was having a great time! John’s dad and brother helped him get into his suit jacket and made sure he was all ready to see his bride!
The area around Stone Arch Bridge is very special to the couple since they live right there and walk there together all the time. So they shared their first look at the end of the bridge! John was so excited to see his bride! We then took some couple’s photos around the area. Their adorable puppy also joined for a few photos – look how cute he is! Then we made our way on the Valley Limo & Coach party bus toward Nicollet Island, taking couple’s and wedding party photos along the way!
Once we wrapped up wedding party photos, we left for Leopold’s Mississippi Gardens! When we arrived, we took family photos and got the couple hidden away before the ceremony. Guests arrived and made their way down to the ceremony site. The outdoor ceremony space at Leopold’s Mississippi Gardens is so beautiful! It is nestled in right along the river and has such incredible views! The officiant was a friend of John’s and did everything with a huge smile on his face! Such a class act! After they exchanged vows and rings, they were announced as Mr. & Mrs.!
The couple then went up to the bridal suite to sign the marriage license while guests enjoyed social hour. One thing I love about LMG is the curtain that keeps the social hour space separate from the reception space. This allows me, as the photographer, to get full room detail photos and also allows for an amazing grand reveal of the room for guests at the end of social hour! Just one of the many amazing things about this venue!
After guests were seated, the wedding party was announced in! Check out some of the fun moves they did! Then it was time to welcome in Christy & John! Everyone was so pumped up! Mintahoe did an amazing job catering as always and everyone enjoyed their meals! Check out the amazing customized wood coasters! The groom was one of the founders of Woodchuck USA, so these incredible guest gifts were made by the company! After the couple ate, I took them back down to the river for some photos! The Mississippi River is so low right now, that we were able to walk along the rocky bank of the river for some photos! Check these out! Such a beautiful setting! After we came back up, the couple cut their Buttercream cake, toasts were given, and the dancing begun! Congrats & love you both Christy & John!
