One of Zoe & Josh’s first dates was watching The Weather Channel as they both love storms! Well… have you heard someone say that it was a “beautiful rainy wedding day?” Well now you have! I love the intimate feel rain brings to a wedding! Zoe & Josh got married at Oak View Weddings and Events in Owatonna and it was beautiful! The day started with preparations on the grounds of the venue! Zoe got her hair done by Corabella Studios and makeup done by Maggie J Makeup! Both did a fantastic job as always! Her mom helped her into her dress from The Wedding Shoppe and she put her beautiful jewelry on. Her earrings were borrowed from her grandma and her bracelet was from Olive + Piper. While she was getting ready, Josh was in the groom’s suite putting on his handsome suit from Men’s Wearhouse! I pinned his boutonniere made by the florist Klecker’s Kreations on his suit and it was time to see his bride!
It rained super hard right at first look time so we did it under a neat little covered area at the venue. Josh was so excited to see his bride and I think it’s safe to say his eyes watered up a little! We then did some couple portraits and worked between rain showers! Love doing umbrella shots as well – so fun! The whole wedding party then joined for photos! The bridesmaids were wearing dresses from Azazie and the groomsmen were wearing suits from Men’s Wearhouse. Everyone looked so good!
After family photos, guests began to arrive! The radar said no rain for 30 minutes so the ceremony started right on time! Zoe’s dad walked her down the aisle to Josh who was so happy! It was a stunning setting for an outdoor ceremony! The ceremony began and so did the rain! And then the rain picked up a little more, and a little more! Finally it was pouring and everyone got soaked! Guests were amazing sports and it made the ceremony so memorable!
The reception was beautiful, with dinner by Infinity Catering, a cake cutting, toasts, and dancing! Beautiful Day DJ’s did a great job as always and keep the dance floor hopping! Guests also enjoyed Eric Vest Photography’s “The I Do Booth” and went home with fun photo strips remembering their time! We also ran across the road for some fun “sunset” photos… which was more like storm photos as the dark clouds rolled in! Congrats Zoe & Josh! What a perfect day!
